Great for:
Inspecting large objects or unobstructed areas. Additionally, they provide imagery and other datasets in a short timeframe. Plus, drones are fun.
Not so great for:
Mapping heavily vegetated or obstructed/restricted areas.
Mobile Mapping / Scanning
Great for:
Quickly capturing large amounts of total data across large areas, and catching things missed by aerial methods. Accuracy and thoroughness can also be adjusted to fit client needs.
Not so great for:
Limited budgets and modest needs, and is also limited by physical obstructions.
GPS Collection
Great for:
Offering the widest range of accommodation and specificity for client needs. From survey grade to GIS grade, GPS collects data effectively and efficiently.
Not so great for:
Capturing more than one object or area. GPS’s strength is detail and specificity. It takes more time to conduct, and is prone to complexity and disturbance via weather phenomena.
